Determination of stem content during harvesting

The stem ratio determination of spinach takes place directly on the harvesting machine. The system checks the stem to leaf ratio of fresh spinach using image processing. With the results of this analysis the settings of the machine can be adjusted manually during the harvest, so the stem ratio of the spinach gets optimized.
For this quality check an image acquisition unit is put over a conveyor belt system on the harvesting machine. The quality check of the spinach takes place with a conveyor belt speed of 1500 mm/second.
